Likely voters support efforts by Texas to erect barriers at the border to prevent illegal aliens from crossing into the United States.

According to a new Rasmussen Reports national phone and online survey, 69 percent of voters stand with Texas, including 53 percent who strongly support the Lone Star State’s actions.

Just 27 percent oppose Texas taking action to prevent the invasion.

Following the Supreme Court’s ruling which went in favor of the Biden administration, Louisiana Congressman Clay Higgins said the “feds are staging a civil war, and Texas should stand their ground.”

Fifty-five percent of voters agree with Higgins, including 37 percent who strongly agree. Only 36 percent disagree.

Support for the invasion seems to come from one side of the political spectrum. Seventy-three percent of Democrats approve of the court’s ruling, but only 24 percent of Republicans and 40 percent of unaffiliated voters agree.

Seventy-five percent of Republicans, 54 percent of unaffiliated voters and 21 percent of Democrats disapprove of the decision.

Even a majority of Democrats support Texas erecting barriers at the border. Fifty-two percent of Democrats joined 66 percent of unaffiliated voters and 89 percent of Republicans in support such actions.
