The Sarpy County Republican Party officially censured liberal Republican Congressman Don Bacon last week. According to the Nebraska Freedom Coalition, the moment was marked by a standing ovation and the resolution delivered by Matthew Barros received unanimous support from those in attendance.

The resolution states that Bacon campaigns on faith, patriotism and conservative values but shows “disregard” for those principles in Congress. Bacon was criticized for his record on spending and the national debt. It also hammered Bacon for voting against an NDAA amendment that would have defunded DEI and eliminated DEI training for service members. Bacon also voted against amendments reinstating service members and commercial airline pilots who refused to get the COVID shot.

Bacon has failed to uphold certain planks in the county and state platforms. The resolution also states he has been combative in utilizing divisive rhetoric at his own conservative base.

According to 3 News Now, Bacon accused the “group” of being the same group that kicked out most of the Republican office holders and chased away many “dedicated party stalwarts.”

“Unfortunately, the Sarpy GOP has been co-opted by a radical few,” Bacon wrote. “I am focused on holding this seat and growing our majority.”

  1. I’m from Ames, but Bacon is my Congressman, and he truly sucks. Bacon’s campaign website says he supports Mental Health Parity, enacted by Obamacare 14 years ago. This was done over a decade ago Don!

Nebraska spends $35,000 yearly on State employees’ family health insurance. President Trump’s PPO for a 30-year-old couple and 2 children in Lincoln, NE, is $3,367/year, less than 1/10th the cost. Obamacare and the Socialist media have dumbed the public down so much that all Republican politicians in Iowa and Nebraska REFUSE to mention Obamacare or list it on their website. The Iowa Standard won’t list it as an issue! I pressured Kevin Virgil to switch his website to say he would replace Obamacare.

I enrolled America’s first tax-free HSA in Lincoln, NE, in 1996, when they were called tax-free MSAs. Now, they are the centerpiece of Republican Reform, and there were 34 million HSAs with $110 billion in assets in 2023. Of course, none of these UniParty Republicans in Iowa or Nebraska will say they support HSAs’ total tax freedom.
