Another bill passed early this week was House File 2130, a bill that will normalize the laws allowing the use of ATV’s and UTV’s across Iowa.  Currently these vehicles are regulated on a county by county basis.  However, that creates a patchwork of different ordinances governing the use of these vehicles.  A person living near a county line could have one set of regulations if they go in one direction, and another set if they go the other way.  Furthermore, some of our counties are dominated by large cities that aren’t in tune with the needs of rural Iowans.  This bill will give Iowans more consistency and increase opportunities for motorized recreation that other states enjoy.  The bill is in the Senate.
