Riley Gaines will visit Iowa State University on April 17. Gaines is going to discuss reclaiming feminism.

The event is free to the public and will begin at 6 p.m. at Lee Liu Auditorium in Howe Hall.

Gaines was a 12-time All-American swimmer at the University of Kentucky. She has been vocal in her support for women’s sports including only women. Gaines spoke out about the NCAA allowing male swimmer William “Lia” Thomas to compete as a woman at the 2022 NCAA Division I Women’s Swimming Championship.

Gaines has testified before the United States Senate and United States House. She also advocates for women’s single-sex spaces.
