On Tuesday, Senator Rick Scott, a member of the Senate Aging Committee, released the following statement calling on Democrats to hold an immediate hearing on their partisan, reckless tax-and-spending spree that launches a war on seniors by cutting Medicare, raising the tax burden on almost all Americans and supersizing the IRS to go after Americans. Senator Rick Scott said, “Democrats have launched a WAR ON SENIORS in their latest reckless tax-and-spending spree. Before it moves forward, we must have a hearing in the Aging Committee to get answers on how this hurts American seniors. Think about this…Democrats are cutting Medicare and raising taxes in a recession. It’s terrible for our seniors, many of whom are on fixed incomes, who are already being hit by Biden’s raging inflation crisis. This is the worst idea imaginable, but it shouldn’t surprise anyone. Biden’s been supporting cuts to Medicare and Social Security for DECADES. Sadly, the Democrats aren’t stopping there. As Biden’s inflation rages and his recession begins, does the Democrat’s tax-and-spending spree help small businesses? NO. It sends a bigger, badder IRS after every penny they have. Florida families and businesses, and the millions of seniors that call the Sunshine State home, are sick and tired of Democrats stealing from them to appease the radical liberal elites.”
