Democrat Abby Finkenauer, who is running for her party’s U.S. Senate nomination, is turning to Congressman Adam Schiff for help fundraising.

Schiff, who earned all kinds of national attention for his failed attempt to convict President Donald J. Trump of impeachment, said we’ve learned “our democracy is fragile.”

“In the aftermath of Donald Trump and his Big Lie, it’s more important now than ever to protect it,” Schiff wrote. “We need champions for our democracy in the Senate.”

Schiff said Finkenauer would allow Iowa to “gain a true public servant.”

“I saw firsthand just how hard she fought for Iowa’s working families and our democracy during her time in Congress,” he wrote.
