From today’s email newsletter:
Good morning! Did you hear there was a debate last night?
J.D. Vance did an outstanding job. He was disciplined, he was factual, he stuck to his message, he stuck to policy and he repeatedly reminded voters Kamala Harris is currently in the White House — not Donald J. Trump.
I could tell you about my observations. I could tell you about conservative Twitter’s observations. I could share with you the glowing review Vance received from Donald Trump Jr.
But none of that is as clear and obvious as what I’m going to share with you — MSNBC’s panelists reactions. I watched MSNBC for 90 minutes last night so you do not have to. And you’re going to be very, very pleased with what I saw.
Alicia Menendez credited the Trump campaign for “reading a poll” and altering their positions on abortion rights. Mini Timmaraju said that J.D. Vance “did a masterful job” of changing the campaign’s tune on abortion. Timmaraju also acknowledged it was a “shaky start” for Tim Walz.
Symone Sanders’ face told the story. More on her later…
Mini said that J.D. Vance is “so good” because he doesn’t “totally lie” he just doesn’t tell the whole truth. The entire panel was upset at Vance’s story about a woman he knew well who had to access abortion.
Tim Miller went absolutely unhinged — which you don’t have to do when you win a debate. Miller said Vance was “smooth” and it was “frustrating” to see Vance not get challenged on stage more. Miller said Vance is a “jerk” and he wishes he could say a worse word.
“J.D. Vance is a bad person,” Miller said. “J.D. Vance is an extremist and he’s demonstrated to be pretty sociopathic. And he’s a liar.”
Miller said if anyone was watching the debate and hadn’t been that engaged they wouldn’t have walked away agreeing with his unhinged, unhealthy hatred for Vance.
They were also mad that Walz was asked how Minnesota is “too good” on abortion. And that it took so long for the first abortion question. And then even longer before the Jan. 6 question.
Menendez was outraged at Vance’s “audacity” to point out the family separation happening at the border because of Biden-Harris policies.
Mini was upset that Walz suggested Vance doesn’t want to dehumanize illegal immigrants. In fact, Michael Steele and Mini tried to credit Walz for using “Minnesota Nice” to create a wedge between Trump and Vance — as though Walz was playing 4D chess. Mini noted Trump is “evil” and is “Darth Vader.”
Symone wasn’t having it. She apologized for being the panelist “poo-pooing in the Cheerios.” Symone said there should have been more of a middle ground between Walz being nice to Vance and shouting Vance down.
Miller said the Trump-Vance ticket needs to be pushed out to the extremes.
Steele said Walz needed to punch Vance much harder as well.
When professor Jason Johnson said Walz “won” due to his expectations of Vance, Tara Palmeri didn’t hesitate to disagree. Even still, Johnson admitted Vance is a better debater than Walz.
Palmeri said Vance succeeded because he communicated policy for Trump and attacked Kamala Harris while defining her in a way Trump couldn’t.
Here’s the deal, guys, J.D. Vance absolutely demolished Timid Tim Walz. Walz looked nervous and scared from the beginning of the debate. He made a couple huge, glaring mistakes.
And that was without J.D. Vance using anything about Walz’s record as governor or his stolen valor.
J.D. Vance did exactly what Donald Trump’s running mate needed to do. He stayed on message. He stayed discipline. He made it about policy.
Listen, some of my fellow Trump supporters are not going to like this, but we need to be a party that puts policy above all else. When elections are about policies, Republicans win. When they’re about personalities, Republicans lose.
I have been very concerned about Republicans moving forward once Trump can no longer run again because I believe a number of Trump supporters are involved in politics just for Trump. Just because they want to vote for Trump. Just because they support Trump. Just because they want to be loyal to Trump.
Here is the deal — we’re going to be voting in elections long after Trump is gone (I hope). Our political activity needs to be about much more than Donald J. Trump.
We need to be a party that cares about policy. We need to be a party that is interested in policy. We need to be a party that seeks to be educated on the issues more than we seek to be entertained.
Folks, Trump’s style works for Trump because it is incredibly unique. I do not believe anyone will be successful by mirroring his style in the future.
We need to make sure our movement is rooted in policy — not personality. J.D. Vance triggered the Left on Tuesday nightbecause he didn’t make mistakes by trying to make politics personal. He did it because he focused on keeping politics based on policy.
And MSNBC, Walz and the Left had no response. Because when it’s about policy, liberals lose every time.

The national Republican party is going to lose me soon if it continues to become more pro-murder (euphemistically known as “pro-choice”). There are also several RINO’s in the Iowa Republican party and in Iowa government that are not working to protect the most innocent of life, the pre-born. When Republicans die, God is NOT going to ask them how many elections they won; rather, He will ask them what they did to protect babies and help mothers and families to live as safely, freely, and prosperously as possible.
“WE THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF IOWA, grateful to the Supreme Being for the blessings hitherto enjoyed, and feeling our dependence on Him for a continuation of those blessings…”—Preamble to the Constitution of the State of Iowa. We must follow God’s ways, which are pro-life, rather than “pragmatic” ways, if we are going to have a “continuation of those blessings.”
May everyone who reads this comment bask in the blessings of almighty God and seek to spread those blessings to all people, especially and including the pre-born.
