Despite Disney’s efforts of “inclusion” that please LGBTQ activists, most American adults want the company to return to its family-friendly roots, according to a new phone and online survey from Rasmussen Reports.

Of those surveyed, 71 percent of American adults agree that Disney should return to “wholesome programming” and allow parents to decide when kids are taught about sexuality. Just 22 percent disagree.

A person called Karey Burke said Disney has “many, many, many LGBTQIA characters” in its stories two years ago. Burke is president of Disney’s General Entertainment Content. Fifty-four percent of Americans believe such programming is not appropriate for kids under 12.

Disney has a 46 percent favorability among those polled. Forty-five percent have an unfavorable opinion.

That is a five-point dip in favorability from last fall when 51 percent said they held a favorable view of the company.

A majority of Democrats — 63 percent — have a favorable view of Disney, but just 33 percent of Republicans and 36 percent of unaffiliated voters share that opinion.

There’s a similar spread in terms of programming with “many, many, many LGBTQIA characters” being appropriate for kids under 12. Fifty percent of Democrats believe it is appropriate, but just 21 percent of Republicans and 24 percent of unaffiliated voters agree.
