A far-left blog called The Iowa Starting Line shared a quote from Marci Bowers, “doctor” and president of World Professional Association for Transgender Health, that promotes gender-affirming care. Some would refer to it as sex-change treatment.
“Gender-affirming care unequivocally positively affects the lives of those it treats,” Bowers was quoted as saying.
Republican State Rep. Eddie Andrews criticized the promotion of the barbaric practice.
“This promotion of this irreversible damage to our most precious resource, our children, without regard to their permanent mental, physical and emotional damage, which is often intentionally hidden from parents as long as possible, is yet another reason Iowa has moved away from this party whose leadership is bizarrely out of touch with reality on this issue,” he wrote. “These are minors who can’t make a legal decision, vote, drink, some can’t drive, yet we have people promoting these life-altering issues. This is why despite their incessant negative ads, the state largely rejected their dangerous arguments.”
Andrews encouraged his audience not to let the “devil control the narrative.”
“This post is a reminder that this is no time to rest,” he said.
Andrews shared a story about the approach Iowa’s governor took after winning the Civil War. Governor Samuel Kirkwood said there was a need to keep reminding people WHY we won and WHY it was important to fight the battle against slavery.
“The same can be said in the battle to protect our children,” Andrews wrote. “This is WHY we win. This is also a reminder that while we engage everyone, we can never let people who believe things like this, regardless of party, be in charge of the moral decisions of our children. Keep fighting. Parents matter! Children matter!”
Someone should reminder “doctor” Bowers that as a doctor, she should first do no harm.
