Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds announced on Tuesday that NASCAR will be back in Iowa for a weekend in 2024.

The ARCA Menards Series will open the weekend on Friday, June 14, with the NASCAR Xfinity Series on Saturday, June 15 and the NASCAR Cup Series race on Sunday, June 16.

Representative Jon Dunwell said the weekend may have an economic impact of up to $100 million for the area.

Reynolds said that Iowa stands for American principles like “faith, family and opportunity for all.”

“And these things that Iowans love most are what NASCAR does best,” Reynolds said. “Proud to welcome NASCAR back to Iowa.”

NASCAR has gone extremely woke during the last handful of years.

As far back as 2016 NASCAR has been trending such a direction. NASCAR chairman Brian France spoke out against the “Bathroom Bill” in North Carolina. France said NASCAR was working “behind the scenes” since it is “not a political institution.”

“We don’t set agendas or write laws, but we express our values to policymakers,” he said at the time. “We will and we do. We are real clear about that.”

NASCAR also announced a plan in April of 2023 with a goal of net zero emissions by 2035.

NASCAR President Steve Phelps noted that as a sport, NASCAR hasn’t been as welcoming and inclusive to the LGBTQ community and they want to be.

“Whether it’s someone’s sexual orientation or the color of their skin or whatever that might be, it’s immaterial,” Phelps said. “It’s a love for racing that they want to celebrate with each other. That’s really something we’re working really hard at.”

Keep in mind the Iowa race is scheduled for the middle of June — Pride Month.

The Iowa Standard reached out to Gov. Reynolds’ office as well as Rep. Dunwell asking if they have any thoughts regarding the race being hosted during Pride Month and NASCAR’s recent promotion and celebration of the month.

  1. Um…. No. Big difference between not being racist, and not accepting the delusion gender dysphoria fiction which is there are more than two genders. Don’t ask. Don’t tell. Stop broadcasting sexual preferences to the children, and everyone else for that matter. Grow the hell up and keep it to yourself. Corporate support of this issue = immediate boycott.
