Congressman Randy Feenstra was one of six Iowans in Washington D.C. on Jan. 6 who voted to certify Joe Biden’s election “victory.” Iowa is the only state in America with multiple Republicans in the U.S. House and a Republican in the U.S. Senate where not a single one objected to Biden’s “win.”
A reader of The Iowa Standard saw this post from Feenstra and sent it to us asking if Feenstra voted to certify Biden’s victory.
“Total hypocrisy,” they said.
Feenstra’s post said that voters are “angry” over Biden’s failed Afghanistan withdrawal and that we left Americans behind.
“We need to elect Republicans up and down the ballot to fix the mess of this administration,” Feenstra wrote.
But this reader correctly points out that Biden’s Administration came to D.C. with the blessing of Feenstra and the other Republicans who voted to certify an election that left more questions than answers.
And, another reader pointed out, what good is it for voters to “elect” Republicans up and down the ballot when those Republicans aren’t willing to actually look into our election security.
All very valid points.
Biden is responsible for the failed Afghanistan withdrawal. But there is also a sliver of responsibility that should go to Republicans who certified his “victory” in January.
A vote to certify Biden’s victory was a vote to put the Biden agenda in motion.
Unfortunately, it is in full go mode. And all Americans are having to deal with the consequences.
