The Iowa House is expected to debate the Protect Women’s Sports Bill on Monday. The bill passed the House Education Committee last week on a party-line vote. It was sponsored by Representatives Henry Stone and Skyler Wheeler.

Two amendments have been filed to the bill. Representative Jeff Shipley filed an amendment to prohibit a school district employee or school district from offering courses, instruction or influence to students that would reasonably lead a student, for the purposes of athletic participation, to be confused as to the student’s sex or the nature of sex.

Wheeler filed an amendment to include community colleges and any institution of higher education located in Iowa that is a member of the NCAA, NAIA or NJCAA.
