This week, American Principles Project PAC (APP PAC) launched a digital ad campaign in Michigan’s 3rd congressional district to defeat Republican Rep. Peter Meijer in next month’s GOP primary.
The campaign will inform voters about Meijer’s co-sponsorship of the Fairness for All Act, legislation which would endanger women’s sports and private spaces at a time when many GOP leaders are seeking to protect both. APP PAC will also be running ads supporting Meijer’s primary challenger John Gibbs, a signer of the Big Family Pledge to, among other things, defend women’s sports and protect children from potentially harmful sex change procedures.
APP PAC President Terry Schilling released the following statement:
“Rep. Peter Meijer is the perfect example of a sell-out Republican. While many in the GOP have rightly begun to push back against the woke left’s attempts to erase women and sexualize children, Meijer would prefer to throw up the white flag and allow families to be steamrolled by the transgender agenda. This is simply not acceptable for a Republican candidate.
“Over the next few weeks, we will be making sure that families in Meijer’s district know exactly where he stands — or, rather, refuses to stand — on this fight, and drawing a contrast with his far more courageous opponent John Gibbs. Republicans must recognize that there will be political consequences for abandoning families. If ‘leaders’ like Rep. Meijer won’t defend us from the woke left, they can expect the Big Family to come after them.”
