United States Sen. Joni Ernst joined some Republican colleagues in criticism of Republican Sen. Tommy Tuberville who has held firm against granting unanimous consent to Pentagon promotions due to the Biden Administration’s travel policy for troops seeking an abortion.
Democrats could put together a deal with Tuberville, or they could hold real votes — one at a time — but they will not.
Tuberville, for his part, grew up in a military family. His father was a career military man who died on active duty. He said he told Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin that if he put this policy into effect, Tuberville would block his generals and admirals from promotion. Yet Austin did it anyway.
Ernst claimed the episode is “injecting politics into the military” and called it “dishonorable and abhorrent.”

The chief of staff to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, a person called Kelly Magsamen, thanked the Republican senators on Twitter for “taking a stand for our military and their families.”
Hey Republicans! All my Republican family and friends are sick of phony Joni. Somebody please primary her. Otherwise I will have to vote for the Democrat because it is the only way we will ever get rid of the trash.
And phony Joni – I donated $25 to Tommy today in your honor.
DOD Secretary promoting abortions politicized the Military, not Senator Tuberville! Censure Senator Ernst.
