On Iowa hosting drag show for new students at home of ‘best drag entertainment in Iowa’

On Iowa is supposed to be events for freshmen and transfer students to become familiar with the University of Iowa community and provide resources and opportunities prior to the first week of class. According to the university’s website:

“You’ll explore campus resources and the Iowa City community, think about your goals for the semester and talk about what it means to thrive as a Hawkeye.”

The purpose of the program is to make friends, discover Hawkeye traditions, and prepare to excel in classes. Students’ acceptance fee covers all the costs to attend On Iowa.

This year, it includes a drag show at Hubbard Park on Aug. 22 at 8:45 p.m. The local LGBTQIA+ nightclub, Studio 13, is “home to the best drag entertainment in Iowa,” — again according to the university’s website.
