Citizens Defending Freedom (CDF) witnessed an unprecedented turnout at the Collin County Commissioners Court budget meeting on August 19, 2024. Over 125 citizens filled the room, with overflow extending into the hallways. Nearly everyone in attendance advocated for the implementation of hand-marked paper ballots in the upcoming November election.

50 citizens spoke in favor of hand-marked paper ballots, with only one opposing view presented.

A petition supporting hand-marked paper ballots gathered over 375 signatures in just 72 hours leading up to the meeting.

County Judge Chris Hill made a motion to move to hand-marked ballots for the November 2024 election, which ultimately failed to pass with a 1-4 vote.
Debbie Lindstrom, CDF Election Integrity Lead, said, “The overwhelming support we saw at this meeting demonstrates the community’s strong desire for transparency and trust in our electoral process.”
