Earlier this month we told you about an Iowa State University professor who offered students extra points for providing their preferred pronouns, as well as some instruction provided in the course about transitioning and wearing binders. The class includes a video presentation that highlights BDSM clothing for “age-play” where a woman pretends to be a 5-year-old girl for sexual reasons.

The Iowa Standard reached out multiple times to Iowa State University for comment, but the university never responded.

It turns out, the course gets worse before it gets better.

The course is taught by a person called Kelly Reddy-Best. The course uses a text called “Dress, Appearance, and Diversity in U.S. Society.”

Chapter nine — “Sexuality” — has a case study that immediately instructs students to watch one of two films about homosexual male’s identities. One of the two options is called “Do I Sound Gay.”

The video includes hardcore, censored, homosexual pornography. And while students are warned through a disclaimer, one must wonder what a film that includes hardcore homosexual pornography has to do with “Dress, Appearance, and Diversity in U.S. Society.” Or what hardcore homosexual pornography has to do with the course’s major — Apparel, Merchandising and Design.

The Iowa Standard is including a link to the video but will not include the actual video clip in our story. Be warned, the clip of the video is indeed hardcore homosexual pornography.

Here is the link. The pornographic part begins at the 47:20 mark.

The Iowa Standard has been told that university officials worked with course faculty to provide content warnings for course materials. The Iowa Standard has also been told The College of Health and Human Sciences and Department of Apparel, Events and Hospitality Management have reviewed the course curriculum in its entirety to determine where the warnings may be appropriate. Yet it appears this video continues to be offered.
