Arizona Governor defies Biden request on border wall gaps solution

President Joe Biden’s administration demanded Arizona Gov. Doug Ducey have shipping containers that are being used to fill border wall gaps removed. Ducey’s response is likely not what Biden had in mind.

When Biden took office, he issued an executive order ending construction on the wall, which left many gaps. Ducey’s office said the governor doesn’t plan to immediately comply, and it began filling in more gaps last week.

Ducey filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Bureau of Reclamation and other federal officials late last week.

Ducey said border communities are “overwhelmed” due to Biden’s failure to secure the border.

“Arizona is taking action to protest on behalf of our citizens,” Ducey said in a press release. “With this lawsuit, we’re pushing bak against efforts by federal bureaucrats to reverse the progress we’ve made. The safety and security of Arizona and its citizens must not be ignored.”
