U.S. Representative Paul Gosar, D.D.S. (AZ-09) issued the following statement after Mr. Biden signed into law H.J. Res 7, legislation introduced by Congressman Gosar terminating the COVID-19 national emergency declaration:

“With Mr. Biden signing my bill, the emergency powers enacted to address the COVID-19 emergency have been terminated.  It is my view, shared by Congress, and now Mr. Biden, that emergencies should be in place only as long as there is an ongoing emergency.  The pandemic is over and has been. This termination is a great step forward towards economic and social recovery.  Working with Speaker McCarthy and my colleagues was instrumental to its passage,” said Congressman Gosar.

The termination of the national emergency declaration terminates Biden’s extreme executive branch powers granted under the act.

The legislation passed the House 229-197 on Feb. 1 and advanced through the Senate 68-23 on March 29.
