On Thursday, Congressman Andy Biggs (R-AZ) applauded the House of Representatives’ passage of H.R. 2, the Secure The Border Act. This legislation specifically resumes border wall construction, restores asylum integrity, ends “catch and release” policies, unites families at the border, protects jobs for American workers, adds more border personnel, and increases penalties for visa overstayers.
“The Secure the Border Act is the most significant immigration legislation package the House has passed in several decades,” said Congressman Biggs.
“This legislation represents a major step in addressing the Biden Border Crisis that Democrats have encouraged for two years. It better secures our southern border, turns off the incentives for illegal immigration, reestablishes order and integrity in our immigration system, and provides Border Patrol Agents the resources and legal tools necessary to regain control of the border.
“This package reverses the damage—ranging from a fentanyl crisis to child trafficking rings to strains on our social safety net—the Biden Administration has caused our great nation.
“I urge my colleagues in the Senate to pass this necessary legislation and for President Biden to sign this into law once it’s passed by both chambers—especially as the Title 42 chaos ensues.
“The American people cannot take one more day of Biden’s Border Crisis. The American people often ask what the Republican Party’s solution right now is. This is it.”
