8 a.m. – House File 2210:

House File 2210 was proposed by Rep. Dave Deyoe. It’s an act relating to liability arising from the donation of equipment by a municipality, fire department, EMS provider or law enforcement agency.

The bill allows a fire department, EMS provider or law enforcement agency to donate used equipment to another organization that provides fire fighting or emergency medical services, or is a law enforcement agency. The bill exempts the state, municipalities, fire departments, EMS providers and law enforcement agencies from tort liability arising from the performance, failure to perform, nature, age, condition or packaging of any vehicle or equipment donated to an organization that provides fire fighting or emergency medical services, or is a law enforcement agency.
