There isn’t much to say about this, really. It’d be funny if the opposition to House Study Bill 649 (which is now House File 2389) wasn’t serious.

The bill takes the bold stance of defining the word “woman” or “girl” as a female. The word “female” is defined as a person whose biological reproductive system is developed to produce ova.

Many liberal groups are registered against the legislation, including a group called the League of Women Voters.

The League of Women Voters proclaims to be a “women-led” organization.

In its “about us” section online, the word “woman” or “women” appears four times.

The value stated on the same page states:

“We believe in the power of women to create a more perfect democracy.”

It would be interesting to hear how the League of Women Voters defines the word woman.
