Congressman Jeff Van Drew, a former Democrat, joined Fox News on Sunday night and suggested President Joe Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris and Speaker Nancy Pelosi should resign.
“With this administration, it’s failure after failure after failure. Honest to God, I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I am. It literally is time for this president to resign. It is time for this vice president [Kamala Harris] to resign. It is time for the Senate president [Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.)] and our Speaker [Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.)] to resign. We need new people, even new Democrats, hopefully, that are moderates.”
Biden previously promised what is happening in Afghanistan would not take place. However, he was wrong.
“The president promised us that this wouldn’t happen, promised that it wouldn’t be like Vietnam, promised that there wouldn’t be people trying to literally be taken away off the top of our embassy. And literally, just his words a short period of time ago, and not one word made sense. None of it was right. We can’t keep doing this.”
Biden previously said the likelihood the Taliban would overrun everything and own the country is “highly unlikely.”
He also said there would be “no circumstance” where people are seen being lifted off the roof of an embassy.
