Congressman Seth Moulton is one of the many Democrats running for President of the United States. He’s also one of the many Democrats calling for Joe Biden to support repealing the Hyde Amendment.
As detailed, the Hyde Amendment prohibits the use of federal funds to pay for abortions except to save the life of the mother or if the pregnancy results from rape or incest.
Biden has gone back and forth. But not Moulton. Moulton, a former Marine Corps officer, is all in.
“I think he should change his position,” Moulton said. “I think it’s wrong. It disproportionately attacks women who don’t have the private means to afford an abortion.”
Then he took it a step further that even elicited almost a look of surprise from the CNN anchors.
“It’s sort of like saying ‘I support the troops but I don’t want to pay them,'” Moulton said. “That’s the analogy here.”
He makes the analogy again later in the interview. Clearly he doesn’t see the issue with it.
