The Des Moines Public Library has a handful of events planned in celebration of “Pride Month.”

The events start with Do-it-Yourself Pride Floats at any DMPL location. All ages are invited to participate and pick up a materials kit while supplies last. Floats will be featured in DMPL’s “social media photo parade.” Some winners will be selected to receive a “prize bag.”

The south branch is hosting a “Pride Month Scavenger Hunt.” That event is for just children 3 and up.

The Central Library will host a “Family PRIDE Party” aimed at children from birth through teens.

The Forest Ave. Library is hosting a Pride Party for teens where they’ll make their own mini pride floats among other activities.

The South Side Library is hosting a “Pride Month Mini Banner Take-and-Make Bags” event.

Finally, the Forest Ave. Library is doing its own Pride Month Scavenger Hunt for children and teens. This event is aimed at children 6 and older.
