Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis was asked if he still believes the definition of marriage is one man and one woman during Thursday night’s CNN Townhall.

“That’s just what marriage is with the church,” he said. “And I respect the Supreme Court’s decision. We’ve abided by that in Florida.”

DeSantis said we must recognize that people will attempt to wield power against religious institutions and attempt to marginalize them if they uphold the biblical definition of marriage.

“In terms of the church, that’s just what it is,” he said. “Now, in terms of the Supreme Court decision with civil law, the state of Florida has respected that.”
