Dr. Anthony Fauci told USA Today that when and if the FDA approves COVID vaccines, there will be a rush to impose vaccine mandates.
Fauci predicted vaccine mandates would not be issued at the federal level.
In December, the FDA issued emergency use authorization for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. While some are wondering why it is taking so long for FDA approval, the agency said it is working as fast as possible.
Fauci said there will be a “flood” of vaccine mandates imposed as soon as approval is granted.
“Organizations, enterprises, universities, colleges that have been reluctant to mandate at the local level will feel much more confident,” he said.
