The Young Americans for Freedom at the University of Iowa will host Paula Scanlan on Monday, March 25. Scanlan is a former University of Pennsylvania swimmer and teammate of swimmer William Thomas, who identified as a woman named Lia to compete on Penn’s women’s swimming team.

Scanlan also appeared in the documentary, “What is a Woman?”

The lecture will be called “Men Do Not Belong in Women’s Sports” and will highlight the importance of protecting women’s spaces including sports, bathrooms and prisons. Scanlan will also discuss how the radical gender ideology is destroying women’s sports in addition to championing freedom and the challenges she has overcome to share the message.

The event will be hosted at the Iowa Memorial Union, Blackbox Theater and is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
