On July 4th, Hobby Lobby took out full-page ads in multiple newspapers featuring Bible verses “along with numerous, pro-Christian, pro-Bible quotes from our Founding Fathers and other key leaders in our history. According to a headline on the popular gay atheist blogsite, Joe My God, ‘Hobby Lobby Goes Full Dominionist in July 4th Ad.’”

“Democratic legislators in New York are opposing plans to open Chick-fil-A restaurants at rest stops in the state, citing the fast-food chain’s past donations to groups accused of opposing same-sex marriage.” (Source)

“The San Francisco Gay Men’s Chorus unpublished a music video promising to ‘convert’ children to a ‘tolerant’ pro-LGBT worldview after it went viral…, declaring: ‘the gay agenda is here,’ ‘we’ll corrupt your kids,’ and ‘we’re coming for them.’” (Source)

“An actor dressed in a rainbow-colored monkey costume outfitted with a fake penis, nipples, and bare bottom appeared at a children’s event at a library in the United Kingdom, after which outrage erupted.” (Source)

The outrage should have started decades ago. But this is what toleration of sexual perversion leads to. Transvestites are called in for story time with elementary school children.

Dominion is an “inescapable concept.” Dominion will be exercised. The question is: “What standard will be used to “take dominion”? Rushdoony writes: “Dominion does not disappear when a man renounces it; it is simply transferred to another person, perhaps to his wife, children, employer, or the state. Where the individual surrenders his due dominion, where the family abdicates it, and the worker and employer reduce it, there another party, usually the state, concentrates dominion. Where organized society surrenders power, the mob gains it proportionate to the surrender.”[1]

An article that appeared in the February 1987 issue of the Gay Community News called for a “gay revolution” that would work to close “all churches” that condemned the homosexual lifestyle. The author, “Michael Swift” (a pseudonym), wrote:

We shall sodomize your sons…. We shall seduce them in your schools, in your dormitories, in your gymnasiums, in your locker rooms, in your sports arenas, in your seminaries, in your youth groups, in your movie theater bathrooms, in your army bunkhouses, in your truck stops, in your all-male clubs, in your houses of Congress, wherever men are with men together…. All laws banning homosexual activity will be revoked. Instead, legislation shall be passed which engenders love between men…. We shall rewrite history, history filled and debased with your heterosexual lies and distortions. We shall portray the homosexuality of the great leaders and thinkers who have shaped the world. We will demonstrate that homosexuality and intelligence and imagination are inextricably linked, and that homosexuality is a requirement for true nobility, true beauty in a man.” (Source)

The claim is made that the above portrayal of homosexuality is how those on the Christian Right perceive it was written as satire, “a ‘cruel fantasy’ that explained ‘how the oppressed desperately dream of being the oppressor.’”[2] As we’re seeing, it’s become reality. We are the oppressed, and we let it happen in the name of “diversity.” Homosexuals took advantage of the weakness of Christians and their corrupted worldview and moved in replacing biblical dominion with their brand of dominion.

Homosexuals responded to the San Francisco Gay Chorus video the same way homosexuals responded to the supposed satire of the 1987 “Michael Swift” article with the following “we were just kidding” claim:

“The far-right conservative media found [our video] and have taken it as their cause,” the choir said in a statement [soon after the release of the video]. “This has all happened in the past 24 hours and it continues to pick up steam. They have taken the lyrics out of context to support a narrative that suits their intolerant and hateful needs. It is obvious this tongue-in-cheek humor is lost on many.” (Christian Post)

Don’t you believe a word of it.

From the start, the tactic has been to silence all opposition to homosexuality and to portray homosexual relationships and now transgenderism as mainstream. Marshall Kirk and Hunter Madsen, authors of After the Ball: How America Will Conquer Its Fear and Hatred of Gays in the ’90s, laid out the strategy. “Madsen said plans must also be drawn up to deal with ‘the entrenched enemy,’ which might persist in resisting even in the face of the preliminary schemes. They said: ‘At a later stage of the media campaign for gay rights—long after other gay ads have become commonplace—it will be time to get tough with remaining opponents. To be blunt, they must be vilified.’”[3]

In 1987, Steve Warren, a spokesman for the homosexual group ACT UP, wrote an article for The Advocate, a prominent pro-homosexual magazine titled “Warning to the Homophobes” where he issued the following warning: “We have captured the liberal establishment and the press. We have already beaten you on a number of battlefields. And we have the spirit of the age on our side. You have neither the faith nor the strength to fight us, so you might as well surrender now.” (Source)

While homosexuals protest Christian dominionists, they have steadily dominated every feature of American society with their propaganda and their brand of dominion. Every year we must endure a month of the celebration of all things homosexual. Can you imagine what the outcry would be if there was a month of Christian-themed programming on every streaming service and organizations like the NFL. NBA, and MLB has done with homosexuality? Do you remember this from the NFL?

Football is lesbian. Football is beautiful. Football is queer. Football is life. Football is exciting. Football is culture. Football is transgender. Football is queer. Football is heart. Football is power. Football is tough. Football is bisexual. Football is strong. Football is freedom. Football is American. Football is accepting. Football is everything. Football is for everyone.

Thomas Jefferson wrote, “Every religion consists of moral precepts, and of dogmas.”[4] There is a corollary to Jefferson’s observation: “Every non-religion consists of moral precepts, and of dogmas.”

Someone is ultimately in charge and making laws to exercise dominion: the sovereign individual where “every man does what is right in his own eyes” (Judges 17:6), a single ruler who claims a “divine right,” the call for a political savior by the people best exemplified in the way Israel asked for a “king like all the other nations” (Judges 8:22–23; 1 Sam. 8), a “we the people mentality” where the decisions of the majority become the law of the land, or placing the final arbitration of what is right in the hands of nine Supreme Court justices where only five are needed to change a law.

Archibald Alexander (1772–1851), Professor of Theology at Princeton Theological Seminary (1812–1843), couldn’t be any more correct when he stated the following:

Men may be induced to abandon their old religion, and to adopt a new one; but they never can remain long free from all religion. Take away one object of worship and they will soon attach themselves to another. If unhappily they lose the knowledge of the true God, they will set up gods of their own invention: or receive them from others. The history of all nations bears such ample testimony to this fact that it cannot be denied.[5]

We cannot live within the fluid boundaries of legal relativism. There must be a definitive and final legal standard of appeal to justify moral decisions at the personal and governmental levels. But by whose standard and by what standard? If there is no transcendental moral standard, then the opinion of one judge is as good (or as bad) as the opinion of another.

By What Standard?

By What Standard?

The sovereignty of the self-contained God is the key to every field, in that only the God of Scripture makes all things possible and explicable and is thus the basic premise not only of theology, but of philosophy, science, and indeed all knowledge, in that God is the Creator of all things. He is their only valid principle of interpretation, in that they derive both their existence and meaning from His creative act. This belief is herein set forth in terms of various aspects of human thought.
