Congressman Bob Good (VA-05) introduced the Iran China Accountability Act to prevent the Biden Administration from entering into a disastrous nuclear agreement with Iran. The bill blocks any taxpayer dollars from being used to advance a nuclear agreement with Iran until Iran has terminated its cash ties with China and requires Iran to terminate its ties to terrorist groups like Hamas.

“President Biden has effectively abandoned our most important friend and ally in the Middle East, Israel. From the very early days since Iran-backed Hamas terrorists brutally attacked, Biden has been pressuring Israel to surrender,” said Good. “Meanwhile, Biden has waived sanctions on Iran, releasing billions of dollars to the regime.”

The Iran China Accountability Act condemns Hamas-incited terrorist attacks and mandates a rigorous process for any potential nuclear agreement with Iran. Among its provisions, the bill:

  • Requires the CCP to end the incarceration of the Uyghurs;
  • Requires Iran to terminates all ties and transfers of cash to Iranian proxy forces; including Hamas;
  • Requires verification that Iran has destroyed all chemical weapons, materials, and infrastructure;
  • Requires Senate ratification by a two-thirds vote of approval of any nuclear agreement between the U.S. and Iran.

Good continued, “Iran and China both seek America’s downfall. My legislation will hold the Chinese Communist Party accountable and ensure that Biden never re-enters the failed nuclear agreement with Iran.”

“The West, and most particularly the United States and Israel, are entering into a particularly perilous historic period with the merger of two of our greatest enemies, the Islamic Republic of Iran and China. Each of these nations harbor profound resentment and antipathy to all of the values our democracies represent, making this legislation critically important. Iran has already been the recipient of billions of dollars of US taxpayers’ funds through the JCPOA and has brutally massacred its own citizens who have courageously fought to overthrow their brutal theocracy. It has also created a network of terrorist proxies throughout the Middle East, as China has been attempting to purchase economic power throughout the region. This important bill must be passed, and any further agreement with Iran must go through the Constitutional protections of ratification of two-thirds of the US Senate.” – Sarah Stern, Founder & President, Endowment for Middle East Truth (EMET)

“Iran is the root cause of all the problems of the Middle East Region, and making any deal with Iran while they continue to support Islamist terrorist groups including Hamas, Hezbollah and the Houthis and calling for the destruction of America and Israel is an intolerable obscenity for the foreign policy interests of the United States as well as for our moral integrity. ZOA applauds Rep. Bob Good for his leadership in introducing this House bill that would prohibit the expenditure of any US taxpayer funds to advance a nuclear agreement with Iran while Iran is working with enemies of the U.S., including Arab terrorists responsible for the October 7th atrocities and China, which has played an extremely hostile roll in the entire Middle East region.

“Any agreement with Iran can only be in effect once it is ratified as a treaty, which is a requirement of the U.S. Constitution. It is a step forward that this legislation requires Iran to end support for horrific terrorist groups, like Hamas. ZOA praises Rep. Good and Senator Blackburn (R-TN) for this important effort.” – Morton A. Klein, National President, Zionist Organization of America (ZOA)
