Every election cycle Americans are faced with a choice. Do we want a divided or united government? Over the years a divided government has kept bad things from happening but, at the same time, has prevented some good things from happening.

A united government has the power to change things, for the good or the bad. In earlier times, when Democrats controlled both houses of Congress and the White House, liberal policies were pushed through, and later, when Republicans gained control of Congress, these policies were stalled.

In the very few times that Republicans controlled Congress and the White House, there seemed to be a reluctance by some to push through a conservative agenda, so a lot of good things that could have been accomplished, like pro-life legislation, never saw the light of day.

There seem to be some in the halls of power who still think that we live in days gone by when we could compromise with the other side, work across the aisle, and nothing too terrible resulted. Those times, my friends, are long gone!

The Democrat Party has been completely taken over by radical Marxist and Socialist forces. There is no room for compromise with those who are actively working to destroy this great Republic. But the question remains: Does the Republican Party have the courage, if given a united government by the voters, to move this country back to its founding principles? Does Republican leadership understand that America stands on the precipice and we do not have the time to play politics with our country’s future?

In the 2024 election, Republicans have the potential to not only keep control of the House but gain control of the Senate and win the White House. If that were to happen, would it make any difference? Do Republicans have a plan to get us back on track?

In 1980, after four years of a failed Democrat administration and following the Watergate scandal that not only cost Richard Nixon the presidency, but weakened the Republican Party, a warrior arose who called us back to the principles that made this country the great nation that it had been. He was a man of principle, not just a politician. Even facing a divided government, he was able to rectify the failed policies of the Carter years. He was so successful that many still today refer to themselves as Reagan Republicans.

We do not have Ronald Reagan to steer the ship of state back onto a true course, but with the right leadership in Congress, we might be able to undo some of this progressive insanity that has been foisted on us over the last fourteen years under Obama/Biden.

Ted Cruz has been a US Senator representing Texas since 2013.

Senator Ted Cruz grew up in Texas. His father, Rafael, fled Cuba after being tortured and imprisoned and came to Texas with just $100 sewn into his underwear. Ted’s mother, Eleanor, was born in Delaware to an Irish and Italian working-class family.

Ted earned his undergraduate degree from Princeton and his law degree from Harvard Law School. After law school, Ted clerked for Chief Justice Rehnquist and then worked in private practice. In 1999, Ted joined George W. Bush’s campaign for president as a domestic policy advisor where he met Heidi Nelson, who also worked on the policy team. Heidi and Ted married after the campaign.

After working at the Department of Justice and the Federal Trade Commission during the Bush administration, Ted moved back home to be the Solicitor General of Texas. As Solicitor General, Ted argued eight cases before the Supreme Court of the United States, and defended our freedom of speech, our right to keep and bear arms, and our religious liberty in courts across the nation. Following his service as Solicitor General, Ted returned to private practice, where he continued to litigate high stakes cases and argued his ninth case before the Supreme Court.

Ted and Heidi also started their family, welcoming Caroline and Catherine.

In 2013, Ted was sworn into the United States Senate, where he has been a passionate fighter for limited government, economic growth, and national security. He has authored dozens of legislative measures that have been signed into law.

Ted is honored to serve as the top Republican on the Commerce Committee, a position that gives him the chance to have a far-reaching impact on innovation and growth across the landscape of daily life. As Ranking Member, he is focused on furthering innovation in the telecommunications space, protecting Americans’ privacy and security, helping Americans travel safely and more efficiently, and ensuring that the U.S. continues to lead the world in space exploration.

He is also leading the fight in the Senate to support Texas jobs, rein in Big Tech, secure the border, and fundamentally reassess the U.S.-China relationship and hold the Chinese Communist Party accountable for covering up the coronavirus pandemic, committing human rights atrocities, and engaging in censorship, propaganda, and espionage in the United States.
