On Friday, June 24, 2022, the US Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, the landmark US Supreme Court decision that made access to an abortion a federal right in the United States.

For forty-nine years, the pro-life movement had marched, proposed legislation, appealed to the courts, and provided care for those who faced unwanted pregnancy.

There may have been some in the movement who believed that when Roe was overturned, their fight would be over. Most, however, realized that the fight that was centered on Washington would now have fifty battlefronts.

So now that the abortion question resides with the individual states, where does the pro-life movement stand? Some states have already made their decision, some have yet to decide.

What some on the Left do not understand is that the legal questions are not the only issues that the pro-life movement is involved in. Providing care for women and young girls who face a pregnancy for which they are not prepared is even a greater battle. How do we as Christians and conservatives fight Planned Parenthood and the abortion movement in order to not only save the lives of babies but also make sure that those who choose life are cared for?

Toby DeBause is the President and CEO of Crisis Pregnancy Center of Tidewater, a position he has served in for over 21 years. Toby’s wife, Karen, introduced him to pregnancy center ministry in 1995. He immediately understood this was one of the most relevant ministries of our time as CPC saves lives, spares hearts, and spreads the Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

CPC’s four pregnancy medical clinics and one resource center are called The Keim Centers. The Keim Centers are located throughout South Hampton Roads (Suffolk, Norfolk, Chesapeake, Virginia Beach, and Portsmouth).

Toby and Karen have four children and reside in Chesapeake, VA.
