The Linn County GOP Central Committee held a vote to censure Senator Joni Ernst and Representatives Ashley Hinson and Mariannette Miller-Meeks, but it failed.
The county Republicans instead passed a resolution urging Republican Party of Iowa Chair Jeff Kaufmann, RNC Committeeman Steve Scheffler and RNC Committeewoman Tamara Scott to vote for new leadership at the Republican National Committee.
Ronna Romney McDaniel is current chair and has presided over underwhelming Republican efforts the last few election cycles. She is being challenged by Mike Lindell as well as Harmeet Dhillon.
Kaufmann, Scheffler and Scott, however, have already publicly announced their support for McDaniel.
If these three won’t support replacing GOP leadership then Iowans need to replace these three!! I am from District Two and we voted to replace our district committee Reps, all but one. It is obvious that GOP leadership is failing Iowans and the nation! Time for new leadership and I’m not afraid to say so! And while I’m at it, replace ALL Representatives that won’t vote according to Iowas State GOP platform!!!!
