Former Speaker of the House, Paul Ryan, told Fox News this week that he believes any Republican not named Donald Trump can beat Joe Biden in 2024.

Ryan said Trump’s re-election pitch from Tuesday night failed to be compelling because he said the “evidence is really clear.”

“With Trump we lose, with somebody else we’re going to win,” Ryan said.

Ryan said Republicans have “a lot of good people” to run, but said Ron DeSantis would be one of them.

“I think DeSantis is a great candidate,” Ryan said. “I think anybody not named Trump can beat Biden.”

Ryan reiterated that he believes the “evidence is crystal clear.”

“Trump is costing us elections, and we know that there’s a great generation of capable conservatives who are more capable of winning the general election than Donald Trump,” Ryan said.
