Robert F. Kennedy’s campaign clarified his stance on abortion after what it claims was a misunderstanding at the Iowa State Fair. Kennedy reportedly told a reporter once a baby was viable (after three months of pregnancy) he would support banning abortion.

However, his campaign sent out a clarification on Sunday night, writing:

“Mr. Kennedy’s position on abortion is that it is always the woman’s right to choose. He does not support legislation banning abortion.”

That is a shocking statement. The Iowa Standard replied to his campaign, asking if that means he is OK with abortion up until birth.

The campaign simply referred The Iowa Standard back to its previous statement.
