Senator Rand Paul called the compromise “amazing” and predictable.

“The Swamp’s new ‘border security’ bill gives Ukraine $60 billion more…from the squandering of your money to the fake border reforms, it’s safe to declare this bill as anti-American. I’m a NO.”

Senator Ron Johnson said that President Joe Biden and Democrats do not want to secure the border.

“They caused this crisis, and that fact has been an insurmountable problem in negotiations. And now that the text of the bill has been released, it appears even worse than we feared.”

Senator Josh Hawley said the border deal represents a “huge middle finger to working people.”

“The cheap labor machine keeps on running,” he said. “The border bill continues to fund the overseas war machine. Here’s how to stop that: ban members of Congress from owning stock in ANY corporation that gets government military contracts. Stop profiting off forever war.”

Hawley added that there are no new restrictions on unaccompanied minor children at the border in the bill.

Senator J.D. Vance said a good summary of the agreement is “the border never closes.”

“I can understand why Chris Murphy supports it,” Vance said. “I cannot imagine why any Republican supports this atrocious proposal.”
