On Tuesday, as a continuation of his efforts to protect individual freedoms and put an end to unscientific mandates, U.S. Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) introduced a resolution that would have protected Senate Pages from the imposition of COVID-19 vaccination requirements. Multiple scientific studies have shown a heightened risk of myocarditis for children and teenagers after taking an mRNA COVID-19 vaccine and that, for young and healthy people, the risks posed by the vaccine are greater than the risks posed by COVID-19. Furthermore, there is consensus that the vaccines do not stop the transmission of COVID-19.

For the third time, Senate Democrats refused to follow the science and objected to Dr. Paul’s resolution passing by unanimous consent.

Below are excerpts from Dr. Paul’s remarks:

“Common sense should prevail, and the Senate should repeal this mandate, just as we did for our young soldiers. We shouldn’t allow politics to infect and cloud common sense judgment. The vaccine committees that make recommendations for vaccines actually don’t recommend COVID boosters for young, healthy individuals.”

“But the Democrats want submission. They don’t want you to have the choice to keep your kids safe and make a decision whether or not your kid, who may well have already had COVID needs yet another vaccine. Why are we forcing these kids to do something that I would say is against medical advice to be a page in our program here.”

“No one should be forced to undergo a medical procedure against their will. In a free society, no one should be forced to receive an injection into their body that they do not wish to have… the Democrat’s Party support for medical choice seems selective and inconsistent.”
