I appreciate the work the Iowa Standard does for Iowans. Oftentimes, quick to report pertinent information and political news Iowans care about. Recently there was a post that received a lot of traffic regarding an individual collecting signatures to run for House District 57, and I wanted to clarify any confusion.

I was collecting signatures to run because I am concerned about the lack of attention and action from elected officials for medical freedoms these past two sessions and special sessions on Oct. 5th and June 28th. I’m also interested in ways to support other needs for Iowans that also resonate with me personally which includes family farming, small business, school choice and caring for our elderly.
However, due to personal needs at this time, I am unable to follow through with submitting my signatures. This process has been incredibly eye-opening; I am humbled by the overwhelming amount of support and encouragement I received when I announced at the Bremer County Convention and who signed my petition. While I’ve decided not to run this session, I will prayerfully consider leaving the door open in the future.
I wanted to come forward and thank everyone who encouraged and supported me during my short consideration to run and also explain why I decided not to submit my signatures at this time.
