Prominent conservative State Rep. Steven Holt announced Wednesday he would be shifting his endorsement from Ron DeSantis to political outsider Vivek Ramaswamy for the 2024 Republican Presidential nomination. In addition to Rep. Holt’s announcement, Ramaswamy racked up three other big endorsements in Iowa this week from Congressman Steve King, State Senator Sandy Salmon, and State Representative Jeff Shipley.
This is a big deal. One of the strongest constitutional conservatives in Iowa just switched his endorsement from @RonDeSantis to me.
This comes after @JeffShipley77 endorsed me last night. https://t.co/rOEnG7J0xW

“I have been incredibly impressed by Vivek’s message. His commitment to stand against the unconstitutional use of eminent domain against farmer’s wishes in Iowa to build the carbon capture pipeline reflects his commitment to constitutional principles,” said Holt. He has clearly identified the challenges our nation is facing, calling this a 1776 moment for this generation. I believe he is our 1776 candidate and that is why I have made the decision to support him.”
“I am endorsing Vivek for President because I like that he speaks the truth about everything from the economy, the border, energy, pro life, gender identity, private property rights and the carbon pipeline, the 2020 presidential election, January 6th protest and prisoners, to Covid and medical freedom! And the American people want to and need to hear the truth! I would encourage everyone to caucus for him Monday night!
“I am honored to receive Rep. Holt, Rep. Shipley, and Senator Salmon’s endorsements — they are each true conservative champion for the people of Iowa,” said Ramaswamy. “It takes courage to stand up against the establishment in your own party. That’s the type of strong leadership we need to revive the founding 1776 ideals our country was founded upon.”
