It turns out news of M&M’s making some changes for “inclusivity sake” is true. Strange, but true.

“We believe in championing the power of fun to create a world where everyone feels they belong,” said a statement from Mars, Inc. “Fun is not planned, it is found. Fun can cross borders and boundaries, and can bridge differences and divides.”

The company said its ambition is to “upend the expected, break through barriers and discover the little joys shared in everyday life.”

“Imagine a world with less judgment and more connection and consistent laughter,” the company added.

The changes include different footwear. The company also said it will be give the female characters a more prominent place in ads since there are two female characters and four male characters.
