Congressperson Randy Feenstra had the chance earlier this year to follow through on promises to deliver for Fourth District conservatives, but he instead delivered for the Federal Department of Education.

Months before Congressperson Feenstra “delivered” for the FBI — voting against an effort to ensure the FBI couldn’t use funds for a new $300 million headquarters — he “delivered” for the Federal Department of Education.

On March 24, conservative Congressman Thomas Massie offered an amendment to terminate the authority of the Department of Education and the Secretary of Education to operate or administer any office or program related to elementary or secondary education.

Feenstra voted against Massie’s conservative amendment and voted in support of the Federal Department of Education and Biden’s Education Secretary, Miguel Cardona.

Yet late last week, when a federal judge whom Senators Chuck Grassley and Joni Ernst supported issued a ruling blocking Iowa’s law protecting kids from sexually explicit materials and prohibiting instruction on gender identity and sexual orientation for grades K-6, Feenstra took to Twitter to call the decision “disappointing” and promise he would “continue to empower parents to be involved in their children’s education and protect our kids from the liberal agenda.”

It is unknown if Feenstra believes the Federal Department of Education exists to “empower parents to be involved in their children’s education and protect our kids from the liberal agenda.”

But this is yet another example where Congressperson Feenstra’s voting record doesn’t line up with Congressperson Feenstra’s social media postings.
