Conservative Congressman Steve King offered his endorsement of Vivek Ramaswamy for President of the United States on Tuesday. Politico reported the endorsement after receiving a statement from King.
King predicted Ramaswamy would “shock the world” since he is the only candidate in the race who has “had the courage to oppose the CO2 pipelines here in Iowa.”
King also lauded Ramaswamy for committing to pardon peaceful Jan. 6 protestors and end birthright citizenship for children of illegal aliens.
Ramaswamy said that while most people are “sheep” when it comes to endorsements, King “doesn’t do what he’s ‘supposed to.'”
“He votes his conscience and that’s why I respect him,” Ramaswamy said. “Steve King was America First before it was cool. The likes of Steve King and Pat Buchanan were the OGs. We’ve found common cause on countless issues where other Republicans are too afraid to speak up — opposing the CO2 pipelines here in Iowa, ending birthright citizenship, making English the national language, or shutting down the deep state. I expect we’ll make Steve look prescient on Jan. 15.”
Ramaswamy visited every Iowa county twice in 2023 and has nearly a dozen more events planned in Iowa over the next two days.
