On Wednesday, Sen. Joni Ernst threw her support behind a bipartisan resolution that would prevent taxpayer-funded abortions at VA medical facilities. The resolution would overturn a U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs rule that forces taxpayers to pay for abortions at such facilities.

Ernst, who is a member of the Senate Armed Services Committee and a combat veteran, led 35 of her Senate GOP peers in a similar effort to prevent taxpayer-facilitated abortion at the Department of Defense.

“Whether it’s at the Department of Defense or the Department of Veterans Affairs, the Biden administration is intent on bowing to the extreme, pro-abortion agenda and violating federal law by directing taxpayer dollars toward abortion services,” Ernst said. “The majority of Americans do not want to see their hard-earned dollars spent on abortion. I’m proud to support this bipartisan push to right Biden’s wrong and protect the unborn.”
