Congressman Steve King releases the following photo and statement after being presented Thursday with the U.S. Chamber of Commerce’s “Spirit of Enterprise Award” in recognition of King’s consistent support for pro-growth, pro-jobs policies that strengthen the nation’s economy.

“Keeping taxes low and the regulatory burden light creates an economic climate in which businesses can succeed and jobs can be created throughout our nation,” said King.  “It’s our duty to support those who create jobs and contribute to the economic growth of America. I am honored to be recognized by the U.S. Chamber of Commerce as a ‘Spirit of Enterprise Award’ recipient for successfully working to get government out of the way of America’s entrepreneurs.”

King received the “Spirit of Enterprise Award” from Thomas J. Donahue, President and CEO of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce during a presentation ceremony this morning. Said Donahue:

“Every day, all across the country, America’s business owners and job creators serve their communities and strengthen their economies. We commend those leaders in Washington who recognize the vital role these businesses play and support them through commonsense, growth-oriented policy. By advancing good legislation, Rep. Steve King is helping businesses grow and thrive, keeping our economy strong, and promoting the free enterprise system that drives opportunity and prosperity.”

The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is the world’s largest business federation representing the interests of more than 3 million businesses of all sizes, sectors, and regions, as well as state and local chambers and industry associations. The U.S. Chamber’s decision to present Congressman King with this prestigious award was based on an analysis of King’s voting record in the 115th Congress.
