Congressman Thomas Massie joined Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis on the campaign trail last week in Iowa. Massie, a conservative lawmaker in the U.S. House of Representatives, endorsed DeSantis for President in April.

While DeSantis continues to claim victory is the goal in Iowa, Massie said he doesn’t think the DeSantis campaign expects to win in Iowa.

“And certainly not New Hampshire,” Massie said, according to McClatchy DC.

The article states that Massie said DeSantis is capable of shaking things up without winning Iowa. He laid out what he believes the best-case scenario is for DeSantis in Iowa:

*DeSantis performs 5-10 points better than polling;
*Trump stays below 50 percent;
*There is no close second to DeSantis.

“I feel like he can be in the 30s,” Massie said, according to the article. “That’s what he’s got to do, by the way. He’s got to reestablish that it’s a two-person race.”
