According to a source, a University of Iowa employee is suspected of damaging or destroying property belonging to Young Americans for Freedom. The group is hosting Paula Scanlan on Monday.

Scanlan was a teammate of William Thomas, a male who identified as a female to compete on the women’s swimming team at the University of Pennsylvania.

A banner promoting the event was torn down, bunched up and thrown into the trash.

As it turns out, according to an email from the University of Iowa Police Department, the “suspect” is a person called Adrian James Sandersfeld.

Young Americans for Freedom confirmed to The Iowa Standard the group is pursuing charges.

There is also a person called Adrian Sandersfeld who works at the University of Iowa. Sandersfeld is listed as an Academic Services Coordinator in the Geographical and Sustainability Sciences Department. According to a social media account, Sandersfeld also identifies as “Dairy.”

In a Feb. 24 Facebook post, Sandersfeld wrote about being a member of the transgender community. According to a LinkedIn profile for a person also called Adrian S. with a photo that matches the University of Iowa photo, the person prefers plural pronouns such as they/them.

“I am an interdisciplinary studio artist, writer and filmmaker who specializes in labor that places emphasis on the human condition in service to progressive, leftist revolutionary action and the public good,” the about section of the LinkedIn profile says. “Through my own work and volunteering efforts, I stand in comradery and solidarity with social justice movements and aim to make the world a more tolerant environment for marginalized people.”

The banner promoted the event as an opportunity to hear from Scanlan on how the left is silencing women. Women, of course, fall under the category of “female sex.” Individuals in Iowa are supposed to be protected on the basis of sex according to Iowa’s Civil Rights Code. So it will be interesting if the individual(s) who damaged the property will be charged with a hate crime.

The Iowa Standard reached out to the University of Iowa Police Department with a variety of questions, but has not received any answers.

We asked if hate crime charges would be pursued, but have not received a response.

We also asked the department to confirm if Sandersfeld is an employee at the University of Iowa, but the department has not responded.

Scanlan will be speaking at the University of Iowa on Monday evening.

  1. Well, at least Paula Scanlon will probably live out her full life, while this testosterone-guzzling woman is committing slow suicide by putting herself into menopause 30 years early, which leads to osteoporosis and early onset dementia along with other health risks, such as cancer and heart disease. And male supremacy remains intact because sterilizing and mutilating oneself doesn’t threaten the power structure in the least. https://exulansic.substack.com/p/sex-drugs-and-cancer-lit-review-testosterone
