Josh Steinhoff has announced his campaign for Iowa House of Representatives District 1. After submitting the necessary signatures, he’ll appear on the ballot in the Republican primary on June 4th, 2024.

“I heard there was a need for a conservative candidate, so I stepped up to the plate,” said Steinhoff, who is an educator at Irving Elementary in Sioux City. “I hope to run a campaign that reaches voters from a wide variety of backgrounds; A campaign that reflects the wide diversity of District 1.”

“I believe in strong, conservative values. I believe life is precious and of estimable worth,” said Steinhoff. “Also, I believe our school system should prepare students to be citizens of our great state and our great country.”

Iowa House of Representatives District 1 covers Riverside, the westside, and near-northside of Sioux City. “The people of this district deserve someone who knows the District well,” said Steinhoff, adding: “When I think of this district that I’ve called home for over a decade, I think of great people. I think of people frofacm many different walks of life. My family and I have lived in this District for more than 12 years. Through teaching and coaching at Headid Field, we have gotten to know many of the residents here. And those we don’t know; I look forward to meeting.”

He also spent 9 years at Hunt Elementary and 1 year at Riverside. For 11 years, he coached a baseball team at Headid Field for Hunt students. He currently leads a running club for Irving students.
