An Urbandale School Board member took to Twitter on Tuesday to bash the Republican Party of Iowa, Gov. Kim Reynolds and the United States Constitution all in defense of Critical Race Theory.

Reynolds signed House File 802 on Tuesday, which bans Critical Race Theory from certain trainings and curriculum in Iowa.

Judy Downs, an Urbandale School Board member, went completely unhinged.

“Did @IAGovernor just ban teaching the constitution? It’s fundamental to our country but also originally highly racist and sexist. Seems to fit the ban on teaching the the (sic) US is fundamentally racist.”

“Reynolds is anti-teacher, anti-education and anti-history. Which is good because she won’t go down in it well.”

“The Iowa Republican Party displays its hypocrisy once again. They are pro-free speech while literally making it illegal to teach hard truths about American history.”

Downs is the vice president of the Urbandale School Board. She has spent her career dedicated to the nonprofit community most recently serving as Development Director at the Iowa Environmental Council where she works to protect natural resources, according to the Urbandale School District website.
