Late last week House Speaker Mike Johnson made available footage from January 6, 2021. While there has been plenty of buzz on the videos online, the presidential candidates have been largely silent.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and Nikki Haley haven’t posted anything on Twitter or shared any of the videos.
Vivek Ramaswamy, however, has shared some of the video. He added that it is “offensive that the government tried to suppress this footage. Get to the bottom of what actually happened on J6. We need accountability.”
It’s offensive that the government tried to suppress this footage. Get to the bottom of what *actually* happened on J6. We need accountability. https://t.co/45yY8CY0TA

Ramaswamy said it is “no surprise” the government suppressed the footage for nearly three years.
“Americans deserve the truth about what really happened on J6. Whatever it is, we can handle it,” he added.

Ramaswamy also retweeted this post:
Now that the truth has been revealed, it should be pretty easy for every Republican candidate to make the same pledge as @VivekGRamaswamy vowing to pardon Trump and a vast majority of the J6 political prisoners.
Anyone who refuses to make that promise should be disqualified. https://t.co/1nciYig4qb
