Both Iowa Sen. Jim Carlin and U.S. Sen. Charles Grassley spoke at the Dubuque County GOP fundraiser on Saturday in Cascade. Grassley walked in during Carlin’s speech. When Carlin discussed the 2020 election and mentioned 2,000 Mules, he asked Grassley if he had seen it. Grassley looked up and just sat there, refusing to acknowledge the question.

Carlin said he would take that response as a no.

While Carlin’s campaign has requested a debate with Grassley, it doesn’t appear a debate will happen.

  1. There’s a stunning difference between the vibrancy of Carlin and the tired, aging presentation by Grassley. Chuck has done good work for Iowa and America. But, it’s time to pass the torch.
